Update, Jessica, & Dinosaurs

After a whirlwind three months full of wedding planning, a vacation in Missouri, the IFC reunion weekend, job-hunting, more international visitors, changing duties at work and changes in our families, Fabian and I are smack in the middle of Golden October again here in Kleinbottwar.

This past week we were pleased to host Jessica Kasström, one of my Webster friends who spent two Christmases with my family in Sullivan/STL. She was here for just about 6 days, and we did everything from touring the Ludwigsburg palace, to hiking up around the vineyards, to watching a soccer match "with the boys", to making chili a la Tami Eschbacher, to touring a dinosaur & fossil museum, to sitting on my couch drinking wine and eating luxurious European chocolates with 27 Dresses playing in the background. Nothing less than fabulous, right?

Here are a few photos from our adventures!

In other news, Fabian has officially completed his Bachelor's thesis and degree. His graduation ceremony, entitled "Bachelor Night " (Americans, please chuckle with me) will take place in early November. But he's already hard at work in his new position as Sales Trainee at Kärcher. The company makes all kinds of power washing equipment, from home and garden supplies to entire car washes. They're a huge international company, and so part of his program will be a 3.5 month internship abroad at one of their locations (China? Colorado? It hasn't been announced yet). Since I'm a freelancer and we will be "freshly married" at that time, I'm hoping to just hop on a plane and go with him, wherever he is sent.

This weekend I'm carving pumpkins and working a few hours in the afternoon on Saturday. The weather is supposed to be sunny and beautiful, so hopefully we can get out on our bikes or up in the vineyards once more before winter blows in. The days are getting shorter and shorter...
